  • Detoxification

Herbal medicine

An ancient form of medicine, herbs may be prescribed in the form of pills or drops to calm or stimulate certain organ systems.

Laboratory testing

Routine blood and urine tests are usually suggested to get a clearer idea of your health status. We also offer specialized blood, urine, and saliva tests to evaluate food sensitivities, hormone imbalances, and more.

Some of our specialized tests include:

  • Food Sensitivity Test
  • Adrenal Function Panel (cortisol)
  • Female/Male Hormone Panel
  • Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth Breath Test
  • Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis
  • Urine Steroid Hormones Test (similar to the DUTCH test)

Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin needles along the body’s energy channels to stimulate the free flow of energy or, Qi. This relieves pain and promotes proper organ function.

During the treatment, very small needles are inserted at various points of the body. You may feel a slight prick during insertion, but it is usually a painless and calming experience.

Acupuncture can be helpful for:

  • Pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Insomnia
  • Mood disorders
  • Hormone balancing
  • Digestive disorders
  • Fertility
  • and more

Sublingual Immunotherapy

Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) is a treatment for respiratory allergic diseases which can improve allergy symptoms, reduce the need for medications to treat the symptoms, and has long-term effects in preventing the development of asthma and new allergies.

SLIT is an alternative way to treat allergies without injections and is well-suited to the needle phobic, children, travelers and the elderly.

Dr. Annie first uses skin prick allergy testing to confirm the patient’s sensitivities. Once this is determined, an allergen extract is prepared in liquid form. The patient then takes very small doses of the allergen under the tongue daily to boost tolerance to the substance and reduce symptoms. The therapy is continued for three to five years to develop a lasting immunity.

Everyone is different, however, the average improvement after a full duration of allergy immunotherapy is approximately 80% to the point where the patient can live their lives without the need for antihistamines.

SLIT can be used during allergy season or done preventatively, beginning 30-60 days prior to pollen season. There is no season for mold, animal dander, or house dust mite – treatment can start at any time.

Types of allergies treated: cat, dog, horse, cow, dust mites, tree pollens, grasses, weeds, and mold.

Food allergies are not tested in this way as there is no treatment available. Ask about food sensitivity testing.

Intravenous Vitamin Therapy

  • Intravenous (IV) therapy is the delivery of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream. This means 100% absorption and allows for higher doses than what can be obtained through diet.
  • Select IV formulations are also safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding!

IV Therapy Tips and Instructions

In order to ensure your experience with IV therapy at Complete Health is safe, timely, and relaxing, please read and follow the following tips and instructions:

  • Stay hydrated – especially if your veins are difficult to access. Drinking water helps to promote vasodilation, and is helpful to both yourself and to Dr. Annie, who will be administering your IV.
  • Please ensure that you eat prior to your intravenous therapy appointment – receiving IV’s on an empty stomach can result in mild nausea.
  • Be sure to pack yourself some food and water if your IV is scheduled for longer than an hour (high dose vitamin C).
  • You are encouraged to use the washroom prior to your IV treatment. Before your first IV, you will be asked to give a urine sample to check kidney and liver health status to make sure IV therapy is safe.
  • Feel free to bring a book, magazine, smart phone, headphones, etc. to keep yourself entertained while receiving your IV treatment.
  • IV’s may be pre-mixed the day of your appointment, therefore we need ample notice (24 hours) if you need to cancel or reschedule your IV. Missed appointments or appointments cancelled within 24 hours may be charged up to 100% of the appointment fee.
  • Do not move your arm connected to the IV line.
  • Do not change the drip rate or move the IV bag.
  • It is common to have bright yellow urine after taking supplemental B vitamins. If you are getting a glutathione IV, you may notice a sulfur smell to your urine.

Thank you for following these instructions and keeping the IV experience as safe and positive as possible!
