If you require Chiropractic care in Okotoks or Southwest Calgary, Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage is here for you! Our fully licensed clinic provides complete chiropractic care and wellness services to help you get back to living. Whether you are looking for effective pain relief, preventative care or simply to enjoy optimum health through wellness care, chiropractic care can help.
Chiropractic care is a drug-free, hands-on, non-invasive approach for assessing, diagnosing and treating disorders related to the spine, nervous system and joints. With a focus on the body’s neuromuscular system and how it is functioning, chiropractors are able to correct symptoms that are affecting you, and also identify any underlying conditions or issues that may be causing your recurrent or chronic complaints. You have likely heard the term chiropractic “Adjustment” to describe chiropractic care. A chiropractic adjustment simply means realigning the spine with a series of skillful moves that unlock the joints and allow your body to return to its normal position.
As chiropractors, Dr. Chris and Dr. Caitlin are trained to detect what is causing your pain, as well as any restrictions that interfere with the functioning of your nervous system. This system runs everything on your body. When we find and correct them, stress is taken off of the joints, muscles and nerves, helping you regain your mobility and allowing your overall health to improve. While most know of chiropractic’s success in treating back and neck issues, there is no limit to what we can help you with. This includes your ankles, wrists or any other part of the body. We will find any restrictions present and get you moving, calming your nervous system so that you can better fight life’s stresses. Along the way, we will educate you on how to take care of yourself and live better with natural health care.
Dr. Chris and Dr. Caitlin utilize a variety of different techniques to help our practice members. We primarily use Diversified, which is a manual adjustment technique that involves your chiropractor manually placing pressure through the affected vertebral segment in order to restore proper movement. We also have gentle drop tables to help aid in mobilizing the spine. Additionally, we offer Activator Methods® or instrument-based adjustments and extremely low-force, using a hand-held spring-loaded mechanical instrument called the Activator adjusting instrument that allows your chiropractor to provide a low-force and quick impulse at specific points.
If you have not been adjusted before, please know that if you hear any noises, it is nothing to be concerned about! It is just air releasing from a joint. Rest assured that your adjustments will not hurt, and Dr. Chris or Dr. Caitlin will walk you through the entire process before beginning. You may sometimes feel sore after your first adjustment, similar to how you would feel after a good workout. It is normal and just means that things in your body are starting to shift.
Musculoskeletal disorders can affect your general health and wellness and implant your normal day-to-day activities and overall enjoyment of life. Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage focuses on many disorders of the nervous and musculoskeletal system. We use Chiropractic care to treat a number of different conditions and disorders, including (but not limited to):
We understand that you may have chosen to visit our office because you are feeling discomfort. Our team wants to get you pain-free as quickly as possible, but more importantly, we want to get your body functioning properly again so you can get back to doing the things you love to do in life. When you reach a healthy state, we want to keep you that way with wellness care. You will not need to come in nearly as often, but just enough to maintain the progress we have made. It is a better option than experiencing a recurrence of your initial problem, which can often happen without wellness care.
Chiropractic care is only one of the many techniques used at Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage. We offer many combined methods and techniques to lessen pain and increase the functioning of your joints to improve your overall health and wellness.

Your body is comprised of muscles, fascia, ligaments and tendons, which are used to protect and support the body. Injuries to these soft tissues play a significant role in the pain and dysfunction within the body. While some injuries happen suddenly from a fall or accident, more are due to repetitive strain that is placed on the muscle, which causes micro traumas within the muscle. This can lead to excruciating pain and difficulty with movement. Muscle Release Therapy (MRT) is a form of manual therapy that places pressure on the muscle fibers to help improve muscle immobility, re-align muscle fibers, relax contracted muscles, improve circulation and break up any scar tissue in the surrounding area. The general goals of MRT are to reduce pain and increase function and range of motion by breaking down the scar tissue and fascial restrictions that are usually associated with some form of trauma to the soft tissue. Trauma can be from things like chronic stress, improper diet, lack of exercise, a pulled muscle, improper posture or having joint restrictions. MRT will reduce these restrictions by stretching connective tissue in an attempt to rearrange the structure of the soft tissue being treated. MRT can treat things like muscle strains and ligament sprains, back, neck, shoulder, arm, wrist, ankle or leg pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, post surgical scarring, tendinitis/tendinosis, sports injuries, soft tissue swelling, tennis/Golfer’s Elbow, IT band syndrome and Repetitive Strain Disorders.
Graston therapy is a form of manual therapy known as soft-tissue instrument-assisted mobilization that uses a handheld instrument with a massage head that is designed to help the practitioner identify particular areas of restriction, and then break up scar tissue. The massage technique uses a cross-friction massage that involves rubbing or brushing against the grain of the scar tissue, reintroducing very small amounts of trauma to the affected area. Sometimes this process causes temporary inflammation in the area which increases the amount and rate of blood flow in and around the area. The theory is that this process helps promote and initiate the healing process of the affected soft tissue. The general goals of Graston therapy are to reduce pain and increase function and range of motion. Graston therapy will reduce restrictions by stretching connective tissue in an attempt to rearrange the structure of the soft tissue being treated (e.g., realign muscle fibers, tendon fibers and ligament fibers). Graston therapy may be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments. It offers several potential advantages to an injured patient, including fostering faster rehabilitation/recovery, decreasing overall treatment time, reducing the need for anti-inflammatory medication and resolving chronic conditions thought to be permanent. Graston therapy can treat things like neck and back pain, pulled muscles, sports injuries, postural dysfunction, post surgical scarring, ankle sprains, soft tissue swelling, tendonitis/tendinosis, tennis/golfer’s elbow, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis and repetitive strain disorders.
