A Focus on the Lymphatic System

A certified lymphatic therapist and RMT, Denise discovered her calling after realizing “the lymphatic system is an integral part of our immune system.” With a background as a registered massage therapist in Calgary, she expanded her training to become certified in the Vodder technique through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS). Denise has also completed courses with the Chikly Health Institute, continuing to deepen her knowledge of lymphatic health.

Professional Experience

For more than four years, Denise has dedicated her career to helping people learn how lymphatic therapy may benefit their overall wellness. She has worked in several clinics before recently joining Complete Health Chiropractic & Massage, where she offers a specialty that was not previously available here.

Recognizing the opportunity to contribute something new, she found our practice to be a great fit. She was also drawn to the clinic’s broad list of services and felt her work would complement the care already being offered.

Gentle Care Approach

Denise’s methods involve light, hands-on techniques designed to encourage lymph flow and help reduce congestion. She takes time to ensure people feel comfortable during their appointment and values creating an environment where individuals can share their health concerns at an unhurried pace.

She explains that the lymphatic system processes “about two to four litres a day,” moving fluid through capillaries, nodes, and ultimately to the kidneys for elimination. This natural process is ongoing, and stimulating it through therapy may help the system work more efficiently.

Connected to Community

Living in South Calgary, Denise enjoys the relaxed pace of our community and appreciates the welcoming environment of both clients and colleagues. This atmosphere aligns with her goal of increasing awareness about the importance of the lymphatic system in everyday health. She notes that “nobody feels rushed” in Okotoks, which allows people to share their stories fully and makes the experience more meaningful for both the client and practitioner.
